About Waikiki (Honolulu, Oahu) :: Waikiki is where the beaches and the hotels are in Honolulu. Waikiki is a bit American, some Asian, very entreprenurial, and not like Hawaii at all, but it's where East and West collide. Waikiki is a small bit of land between Diamond Head and the Ala Wai Boat Harbor on the east-west end, and the Ala Wai Canal and the beach, and though legendary for its beauty, the rhythyms of Waikiki's sunny beaches is in stark contrast to the kinetic pace of Waikiki's nightlife. After a vacation in Waikiki with 60,000 other visitors, you might need another Hawaiian vacation to recuperate, and that sounds good.

Waikiki Activities & Attractions Halekulani, Aloha Tower, International Market Place, Kahuna Stones of Waikiki, Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Sheraton Moana Surfrider, Urasenke Foundation, US Army Musuem, Damien Museum.

Waikiki Beaches The sandy shore of Waikiki is actually seven beaches, each with its own charachter and amenities, and though you're in the heart of Honolulu, the beaches are beautiful, Diamond Head awesome, and the sun and water magical.

Waikiki Outdoors :: Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, Waikiki War Memorial Natatorium, Ala Wai Yacht Harbor.

Interesting fact about Waikiki :: Waikiki's has several must-see hotels. Among them are the Hilton Hawaiian Village, the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, the Sheraton Moana Surfrider, and the Halekulani. Some are worlds unto themselves, others strikingly beautiful, all somewhat pricey. Even if you can't stay overnight, go visit them.

Remember :: Waikiki attracts many Japanese tourists on vacation packages who shop at stores specializing in catering to them. As Japanese visitors usually spend much more than Mainlanders, it's a safe bet the stores they're guided to are charging them more than what you'd like to pay. Also remember many from Japan do not speak English.
