Papalaua Wayside
Lahaina vicinity, Maui, Hawaii. Though the long narrow beach here is unimproved, huge groves of ironwood trees provide enough shade for a good picnic on the grass.
Location :: Between Olowalu and the highway tunnel, south of Ukumehame Beach, off of Honoapiilani Highway.
Access :: Honoapiilani Highway.

Notes :: Papalaua Wayside is particularly popular with local fishermen.
Ukumehame Beach County Park
Lahaina vicinity, Maui, Hawaii. This small, unremarkable beach park has decent, though not great, swimming, and a tiny lawn for sunbathing.
Location :: Between Olowalu and the highway tunnel, north of Papalaua, off of Honoapiilani Highway.
Access :: Honoapiilani Highway.
Services :: Picnic facilities, barbecue pits, restrooms.
Puamana Beach County Park
Lahaina vicinity, Maui, Hawaii. Although the swimming and snorkeling here are below average, Puamana still sees some visitors. Many people come to the park to eat at the picnic tables in the shade afforded by the ironwood trees.
Location :: Approximately two miles outside of Lahaina, along Honoapiilani Highway.
Access :: Honoapiilani Highway.

Lahaina Beach
Lahaina vicinity, Maui, Hawaii. The swimming here is nothing much to speak of and the snorkeling only average, but Lahaina is still worth a family visit, as the clear water is safe and shallow and perfect for tots.
Location :: West end of Lahaina, near Mala Wharf.
Access :: Honoapiilani Highway.
