About East Maui :: The Hana Highway is the only road to Hana, and as the road twists through rainforests and open land, the hectic pace of the modern world can be left behind. The journey, itself, is the reward, but waiting at the end is Hana, a jewel of an older Hawaii.

Interesting fact about East Maui :: George Harrison, the ex-Beatle, lived here for Maui's beauty and privacy, as did American aviation pioneer Charles A. Lindbergh in his time. Lindbergh is buried in Kipahulu.
