Keola Beamer
I was just sitting here thinking that the Beamers make some delicious music. Keola is a master of the slack key guitar as well as a well known song writer. He wrote "Honolulu City Lights" and recorded it with his brother Kapono back in the '70s. The whole Beamer family is well known for their hula and cultural contributions to Hawaii.

Aunty Nona, Keola's mom, was the daughter of Pono and Louise and raised in Napoopoo (Big Island). Louise was a kumu hula (master hula teacher) and so was Nona. The Beamers grew up in a household where Hawaiian tradition and culture was very much alive. You can read more about this treasure at Keola's site.

(I was just listening to Keola's CD "Mauna Loa" and started floating away for a while. You'd like it too.)
