Pillows, Silk, Condotels

Some of you veteran Hawaii travelers might find this story interesting: more and more high-rise hotels are going the condo time-share route. The move is for better returns, and more Hawaii hotels are making the switch to time-shares, condos or "condotels." ...No rooms at the inn

fyi: It's not Hawaii, but if you love travel be ready. China, the UN, and many Central Asian countries are reviving the ancient Silk Road by boosting investment, trade and tourism. The Silk Road Project involves China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and they are seeking support from other countries with historic links to the trading route that once connected Europe with Asia. You could call it the Marco Polo highway, but he actually was a late-comer. The landmark 1970s ten-hour Silk Road documentary is still a must-see for anyone.

Magellan's - Business Travelers GearOne major US airline known for bankrupsy woes (take your pick) has decided to eliminate travel pillows on their US flights to save some cash. Sounds like an account's view of customer service, which means less service and fewer passengers. But you can always get your own pillows and comfort aids. Check out Magellan's website. Look under "inflight comfort."
