April and May

The travel "shoulder season" comes every April and May. It's the time between spring break and the peak summer travel season. In those two months, Hawaii hotels and resorts have more vacancies so they lower rates on their rooms. It's your best time to get a bargain on your trip to Hawaii this year, and as you want to book your flight ahead to get the best discounts, now's the time to put your plan into action. (If you can, use some of the links on this website to book your hotel and travel plans.)

Over the Rainbow

You've heard it: Israel singing the medley of Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World. Here's a nice piece from the San Francisco Chronicle about how Iz recorded his famous version.

Halfway through the tune, Israel spirals off into "What a Wonderful World," the George David Weiss/Bob Thiele hit made famous by Louis Armstrong, then melts back into "Over the Rainbow." ...Hawaii, he sang of thee

Bradda Iz. We hardly knew you. I work in a very staid environment, and whenever Iz wafts out of my office, his voice induces an air of mellowness to the place.
