About the Coconut Coast (Kauai) :: The Coconut Coast stretches along Kauai's northeast coast on Highway 56 from around Anahola down to the Wailua River Valley. The Coconut Coast is Kauai's resort area and is filled with hotels, resorts and shopping centers.

Coconut Coast Towns :: Kapaa-Wailua, Old Kapaa Town. The center of action is Kapaa.

Coconut Coast Activities & Attractions Bell Stone, Holo-holo-ku Heiau, Keahua Forestry Arboretum, and the Poliahu Heiau.

Coconut Coast Beaches Lydgate Beach near Wailua is the beach of choice on the Coconut Coast, but there are others to explore and enjoy nearby.

Coconut Coast Outdoors :: Anahola Mountain, Opaekaa Falls, Wailua River State Park, Lydgate State Beach Park, the Sleeping Giant (Nounou Mountain), the Fern Grotto.

Interesting fact about the Coconut Coast :: The Coco Palms Resort (a classic Hawaiian hotel) was destroyed by Hurricane Iniki in '92 and is still closed. It's at the mouth of the Wailua River, and if anyplace in Hawaii has ghosts this is it. "Blue Hawaii" with Elvis Presley and Rita Hayworth's "Sadie Thompson" were both filmed here.
