Remember :: Kona means "leeward," and in Hawaii it's hot and dry on the leeward coast. But too much of a good thing can be bad, especially the sun. Sun screen, hats, and clothes to ward off the sun aren't fussy precautions but essential if you plan to enjoy your time in Kona.
